Typical Driftboat Setup

You will be fishing out of a sturdy 17 foot welded aluminum driftboat that comes equipped with the added comfort of a 'Bimini style' raintop and propane heater in order to take the edge off of any cold day. These driftboats are very stable and strong while at the same time being quite comfortable and manueverable to fish from. Driftboats are designed to fish two or three anglers in comfort.

The length of our actual drift trip, or 'float' can range up to eight or ten miles in some cases. For the better part, most coastal rivers are quite gentle in gradient with very few hazards. At best, one can expect to encounter small sections of rather mild whitewater (class 1.5) here and there along the way. Whatever you do, make sure to bring along a camera to capture your river excursion on film. The surrounding country we drift through is extremely scenic and downright magnificent in some cases!

14' Custom Fitted Avon Raft

I use my Avon raft to access into the tight places! The raft is light and can be portaged over rough sections of river. This is THE call for hardcore steelhead and salmon fishermen.

23' Boice Jetsled

We have a beautiful new addition to the family of boats here at Jack's Guide Service! I am now the proud owner of a 23-foot Boice jetsled. This boat looks fast even while it sits on the trailer because of its sexy and sleek design.

She's amply powered by a fuel-injected Chevy 350, so we can step on it and get to the hot fishing spots in a hurry! Once we settle down and begin trolling you won't have to listen to a noisy motor. My boat comes equipped with a whisper-quiet, environment-friendly 8 horsepower Yamaha high-thrust outboard motor.

I can comfortably accommodate groups of up to five anglers in this bad boy. When you fish with me in my new sled...you're fishing in style! Now you can relax and lean back into plush seats while waiting for the inevitable bite of a big King Salmon!

I am licensed and certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. For your personal safety and well being, the boat comes equipped with all the required safety items (life preservers, flotation devices, radio, flares, etc.)
